Matt’s Walk Completed

Matt Feldman walked in excess of 230km to raise funds and raise awareness.

He was expecting blisters, poor weather and traffic. He was not expecting to hold complete strangers and comfort them as they told of happy stories, sad and the loss.

He did not expect complete strangers to be stopping and handing over in excess of $6,000 on the road to him and the support crew.

He did not expect truckies to sound their horns, wave and give the crew praises.

He did not expect a handful of people to create lifelong bonds and wonderful memories.

MATTS WALK

With over $8,000 raised as of 17.10.2024 solely for Matt’s Walk… we are thrilled to actually kick off the walk MONDAY OCTOBER 21 at 8am at 7XS Queenstown with Matt Feldman walking in excess of 200km to Devonport

Day 1 - Queenstown to Zeehan

Day 2 - Zeehan to Tullah

Day 3 - Tullah to Waratah

Day 4 - Waratah to Burnie

Day 5 - Burnie to Ulverstone

Day 6 - Ulverstone to Devonport

As we all know some plans go belly up so these are tentative dates and places - depending on Matt’s health and well being we may get further than expected or even fall short on days, weather also plays a part as does traffic conditions and road conditions.

We hope we all make it to Devonport to end Matt’s Walk and this our major fundraiser.

MATT'S WALK

Team member MATT FELDMAN will be walking from Queenstown to Devonport commencing Monday October 21, 2024 to raise funds for our RELAY FOR LIFE TEAM and ultimately Tasmania Cancer Council.

Matt, great nephew to the late Cliffie Young, wants to do his bit to make a difference.

I have some Sponsorship letters, donation tins etc ready for dispatch if any team members would like to distribute anywhere to help raise funds.

Also have TEAM donation tins to go as well.

When we step together, we make strides.

Cancer impacts so many of us, and this year, we’re fighting back. Our team are taking on Relay For Life to raise vital funds for people impacted by cancer.

In Australia, around 134,000 people are diagnosed with cancer every year. They could be our loved ones, our colleagues, or even ourselves. But we’re determined to make sure more people (and their families!) get the support they need.

To get there, our team are going the distance. We’re taking on the laps so Cancer Council can offer support services to families through one of the most difficult times of their lives.

But like us, your support goes far. Your donation can tackle every aspect of every cancer. Together, we can fund life-changing cancer research, prevention and advocacy — and make powerful strides against cancer in our communities.
