Sponsors
Thanks to our fantastic sponsors:
Relay For Life is a community event and it would not be possible without the support we receive from our community. In particular, there are local businesses that provide us with monetary and in-kind support.
If you would like your business to become a sponsor of Relay For Life contact the Organising Committee via Dean Parker: 8291 4175 or relay@cancersa.org.au
Survivors & Carers
Survivors and Carers are an intergral part of any Relay For Life event. If you have been impacted by cancer personally or you are or have been a carer of someone impacted by cancer we would love to welcome you to the 2025 Gawler Relay For Life event.
Our event starts with a very special first lap walked by our survivors and carers and then all survivors and carers are welcome to attend a special afternoon tea in their honour.
The event starts at 2pm Saturday 29th March, 2025. If you can arrive by approx 1.15pm and regsiter as a survivor or carer at the registartion tent and we will give you a special sash to wear proudly during that first lap.
Ceremonies
Opening Ceremony
Commencing at 2pm the Opening Ceremony will include a Welcome to Country, words from any local politicians, local volunteer event coordinator and Cancer Council SA Relationship Officer. A special guest will cut the ribbon to officially open the event and then a very special first lap will be walked by all registered survivors and carers to commence the event.
Candlelight Ceremony
Commencing at approx 8pm the beautiful Candlelight Ceremony is the only time for the event that our participants stop walking. This is when we get together to hear from our guest speaker who will share their personal story and then the lighting of the 3 candles, Past, Present and Future. At the end of the ceremony our candlelighters will lead the participants back on to the track to walk through the night.
Closing Ceremony
This final ceremony at 9am Sunday morning is the thank you and celebration of a wonderful event. This will include presenting trophies to the category winners and announcing the final fundraising amount for the event.
VIP Campsite Promotion
Even better imagine finishing at 9am Sunday and no campsite pack up you can just walk away, well no need to imagine anymore.
The more you fundraise for South Australians affected by cancer the more you get. Thats a win / win.
